It can be also paired with a Pentax 1.7x TC.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34648316.post-81581069559131224622010-03-17T22:06:03.212-07:002010-03-17T22:06:03.212-07:00The Av metering for M42 lens only apply to certain...The Av metering for M42 lens only apply to certain models of digital bodies such as K20D. It works to some degree on K10D with some overexposure as long as I remember. And the over and under-exposure can also vary with individual lens. Perhaps more to do with center weighted metering when a manual lens is mounted instead of matrix metering.

In K20D, I mostly usemy m42 lens in Av mode so as to skip the extra step in reminding myself to hit green button. Unlike K-mount lens, the diaphragm is already closed down, reminding myself to go with green button is odd to say the least.

With K-x, the Av metering mode for M42 is unfortunately not reliable I have to use M mode. M mode + green button in general seems more accurate than Av mode but I like the Av mode for quicker access.Hin Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11542007867767875530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34648316.post-55834174595365352942010-03-17T20:30:54.205-07:002010-03-17T20:30:54.205-07:00Hin, I have a question about the following:
"...Hin, I have a question about the following:

"And I prefer quicker reaction in Av metering without stop-down and the M42 lens or an 'A' lens will do that."

Are you saying that the M42 lens supports open-aperture metering on your digital Pentax? Is this true for just this particular lens, or do all M42 lenses work this way on Pentax digital bodies?photogeraldhttp://www.dpreview.com/members/1163990309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34648316.post-51644165057074114792009-11-24T02:20:44.232-08:002009-11-24T02:20:44.232-08:00I've just received a Pentax A 400mm f5.6 and a...I've just received a Pentax A 400mm f5.6 and after a quick trial it's clear that it significantly outresolves FA* 300mm. The CA is also much better than older Pentax lenses. A real beauty from the first glance.

I will post some pic on the pentax forum when I do more testing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
