I have been enjoying the kit zoom from Sony. While it seems a bit bulky and its size does not match the thin body in NEX, it has its strengths in its good build quality and it is very reasonable in image quality. There are many times that I only take the kit zoom with NEX 5N and I am impressed with the results. It is quite dependable.
I recently visited a Sony store and played with the latest 16-50 power zoom pancake. While the size is much smaller, I am not too excited when I play with the power zoom. It may take sometime to get used to the power zoom. As of now, I stay put with the kit zoom in 18-55mm and quite satisfied though others may have an issue with the look. The lens looks beautiful to me as it is inexpensive, well built and most important of all, it delivers with great picture qualities.
