I attended a wonderful Music On The Green in Yahoo campus in the GA building. The musician is Kate Earl and she had a drummer in the performance. And I was bringing two lens to the performance and all pictures posted in this blog post came from the Tokina zoom.

I later changed to use Tokina lens for the extra reach. The color is more appealing in the DA* and it has the pop of contrast that I need in the bright sunlight. But the Tokina has the extra reach that is ideal in the shoot.

I am going to find out more on Kate's music. Her voice has the zappy love song feel that draws the audience together for a wonderful time in the green lawn area in Great America campus of Yahoo. Both Kate and her drummer, Josh, performed extremely well for the event. Kate used a small keyboard likely from Toys store and it worked well with her introductory song and she moved on to more solo songs with her very charming acoustic guitar. I have something similar but in darker red color and my guitar has been collecting dust at my home. I only played guitar with funky chords and drumming to make my boys laugh and in return I get a laugh in seeing my boys dance.

If I have to pick two musical instruments kate earl with Tokina sd at-x 80-200mm f/2.8, pentax da* 50-135mm f/2.8 and pentax k20dthat I can re-live my life with, that would be the drum followed by guitar. Both are my most admired instruments in the band. I especially like drumming in pop rock, jazz and Christian music. And the drummer was using a light brush to go with the soft songs from Kate. A very nice combination.

I had one month of a beginning drumming lesson in my previous church with Chinese Baptist Christian in Campbell. That was about the time that my sweetie had my first boy. My wife and I thought about the time that I practiced my funky drumming strokes with a pair of chopsticks on our dinner table and the real ones on my pillow and mattress. The noise might have something to do with my very active boy in my 1st child. Now that I think about it, it was probably the best time of my life to have time out learning about drumming. It was pure fun though very difficult to get it right and sound good at the same time.

Kate mentioned about her album coming out in iTune in October. I have expectation that she is going to be a big hit. She has beautiful voice and her artistic approach to her music can easily be seen and felt in the short performance in the Y! music on the green event. I can't wait to listen to her new songs with wonderful lyrics and expressions.

I wonder if Josh and Kate like my photos as much as I like their music. I will set up a client download area if she likes to get a copy of photos that I took in the event. Or perhaps, I am open to a DVD/CD swap of my pictures in the event with her music.kate earl with Tokina sd at-x 80-200mm f/2.8, pentax da* 50-135mm f/2.8 and pentax k20d
